Quilts, Symbols and a History of Craft - A Painting Workshop

$55.00

Join me (Christina!) for a new painting workshop ‘Quilts, Symbols, and a History of Craft’ in my studio!

Date: Friday, May 17th
Time: 6 PM - 8:30 PM
Where: Persika Design Co. Studio and Gallery in Bay View, Milwaukee

In this workshop we will be exploring a painting, drawing and mixed-media approach to the historical art of quilting. Before we begin, Christina will lead participants through a brief history of the art of quilting and domestic handiwork as it relates to contemporary art. You will then be guided to create your own quilt painting which will include common quilt motifs and personally significant symbols. (If you saw my Joy Ice Cream Mural, think this but on paper!)

This workshop is for all skill levels!

Snacks, beverages, and all materials will be provided. We will be using a combination (or your choice) of media including: acrylic, watercolor, gouache and colored pencil.

Persika Design Co. Studio and Gallery is located at 1911 S Allis St. Milwaukee, WI 53207
*Upon purchasing, please await an email from me ahead of the event with detailed directions and instructions on how to find the space.

This workshop has a limit of 14 participants.
